Week 5- Presentations

Image
During week five of Digital Pedgagoies unit, we looked at presenting the learning content to students in a v ery effective technique for our contemporary learners. So what is the purpose of a presentation anyway? As educators we can use presentation platforms like  Press , Powerpoint, Googleslides, Canva, Adobe Spark and the list goes on. By using these platforms for our students we will help persuade, inform, inspire, and entertain our content through learning off a presentation.  The Platform Prezi is my favourite as I ca n customise, interact, add impact, use designed templates, persuade and collaborate all off the one online source.  Prezi helps to emphasise the beginning, middle and end, as the information is arranged spatially; additionally, the transitions and zoom feature help to visually explain how the different points and ideas relate to one another.  Below are some screenshots I have taken from a students perspective of Prezi.  URL:  https://prezi.com/dashboard/next/#/pres

Week 4- Digital Media

Image
This week in my Digital Pedagogies unit, we looked at how Digital Media can be used for learning content and tools to expand the students creativity/ knowledge and maximise engagement for further interaction towards education.  The use of digital media insists of videos, images and audio which allows the students to express their creativity into their learning through many different platforms. As a teacher in areas of Health and Physical Education and Psychology I could bring up these images (examples of both subject areas) and ask my students "what do we think is happening in this picture? Who is this picture for? What is the purpose of this picture?".  Health and Physical Education picture I would show the students:  URL:  https://safetycartoon.com/category/spot-the-hazards-cartoon/ Psychological education picture I would show the students:  URL:  https://healthandsafetyhandbook.com.au/bulletin/10-proactive-health-and-safety-hazard-identification-methods/ With me displayin

Week 3- Web Spaces

Image
Reflection Task 1- Webspace Due Date 29th of March 2023 In my reflection, I have formatted it as a classroom discussion to show how the teacher can explain a Webspace to their class. Enjoy my skit at the start of this blog! Introduction to Webspaces "Webspace?"shouted Jimmy   "What's that?" excitedly said Hayley "Now, Now everyone sitting back into their seats" insisted Miss Woodward "A Webspace is an environment in which we as class 7W can communicate on our own classroom devices (iPad or computers) and add ideas from our learning onto our very own website. There are many different Web Spaces we could create our own on like Weebly, Wix, Squarespace, Edublogs, Notion, Classdojo, Google Sites and Blogger." These might be some interactions that might occur when you first dicuss to your class about adding in webspace.  The Webspaces I wish to discuss today to expand your learning and communication with your students are Blogger and ClassDojo. Week 2- Digital Pedagogy, SAMR, Blooms Taxonomy and Legal/Safe/Ethical etc

Week 2 Pedagogical Principles What are the Pedagogical Principles (defined in the Learning Materials)? 1. Facilitating deep knowledge through higher-order thinking. 2. Facilitating collaborative learning in which conversations are important. 3. Supporting students in knowing how they learn best. 4. Planning learning that is problem-based, and situated in real-life contexts. 5. Is relevant to students, and connects to their background knowledge. 6. Supports learning that is owned, controlled and managed by students themselves. 7. Is socially supportive, engaging, and values cultural knowledge. 8. Is supportive of the development of active citizenship, and strong group identity. What do the Pedagogocial Principles mean to you in common language? Collaboration between the teacher and the students is essential for developing this fundamental information and providing assistance when applying higher-order thinking skills. Feedback from instructors and peers can help to solidify concepts whi

Documentation Tool- Week 1 Reflection

Documentation tool   Who is the contemporary learner? How will the characteristics of our Gen Z learners depicted in the Meet GenZ video define their engagement in the traditional classroom snippet? The Gen Z clearly showed my interest within the video which is described as BORED OUT OF THEIR BRAINS!  The Gen Z learning experiences were so monotoned, dull, chalkboard diagram, you get the idea. Comparing their learning strategies to now how the Gen Y students laughing. Gen Y has grown up with technologies so they are used to seeing a classroom with iPads, laptops, smart boards (touch screen whiteboard) for them to watch videos, draw pictures etc. The Gen Z generations learning experiences were so boring that is probably the reason why hardly any of them studied further on a university compared to today. Their learning outlook would look different to the experiences today. Gen Z would hardly remember any information the teacher was talking about as they all look zoned out thinking abou

A challenge to your beliefs- Week 1 Reflection

A challenge to your beliefs   You as a contemporary teacher? To what extent is it reasonable to conclude that if you are not experiencing positive or negative emotions about the materials and activities in any learning experience, that you are potentially disinterested or not motivated? DIscuss in relation to your first emotional response to the nature of this unit. For me as a preservice teacher who has subjects in Health and Physical Education and Psychology, I have learnt through past units that it's all about your mindset. Whether it be towards learning, sports or other outdoor activities even relationships with other humans, your mindset determines how majority of your day works out. As a student at university, if I have a negative mindset before I start studying my outcome is I won't end up studying for long. However if I plan my day out in a positive mindset way I am more engaged to smash out assessment work or content materials.  I believe this stands for students in
